Press Release
A new publishing model designed to help exceptional games reach players sooner while reducing risk for future publishing partners.
Bettendorf, Iowa - 7/22/26 - A Game Studio, LLC today announced the launch of Proof-of-Play™, a new boutique publishing initiative created to help exceptional tabletop games reach the market faster. The program debuts with two original titles, Lock & Chain and Perfect 10, each released as a Proof-of-Play™ Limited Edition.
For years, A Game Studio has partnered with publishers to design and develop tabletop games. Throughout that process, one challenge has remained constant: many outstanding games never reach players—not because they lack quality, but because publishers must plan their release schedules years in advance. With only so many publishing slots available each year, excellent games are often left waiting for an opportunity that may never come.
Rather than letting those games remain on the shelf, A Game Studio created Proof-of-Play™.
Proof-of-Play™ is a publishing model that introduces carefully selected games through premium Limited-Edition releases. These editions are offered directly to consumers and specialty retailers through channels such as Faire, allowing each title to generate real-world sales, player feedback, and retail validation before presentation to larger publishing partners.
“Our goal isn’t to compete with traditional publishers, but to support them,” said Scott Brady, founder of A Game Studio. “Publishers make difficult decisions years in advance, and that is simply the reality of today’s market. Proof-of-Play™ gives great games the opportunity to prove themselves through actual customer demand, giving publishers more confidence and less risk when considering a wider release.”
Each Proof-of-Play™ Limited Edition is more than a first printing. It serves as a game’s market validation, giving players the opportunity to discover innovative new titles early while helping shape their future. Early supporters own the original edition that launched the game’s journey, designers see their creations reach the table sooner, retailers gain unique products, and publishers receive meaningful data backed by real customers rather than projections.
The initiative begins with two distinctly different games:
Lock & Chain is a fast-paced area-control card game where every turn matters. Players strategically lock opponents out of the game while fighting to avoid elimination themselves, creating tense, interactive gameplay where survival is just as important as smart play.
Perfect 10 is an elegant card game which challenges players to build the ideal combinations of numbers. Easy to learn yet deeply rewarding, it offers satisfying tactical decisions for families and hobby gamers alike.
Together, these titles are the first entries in what A Game Studio hopes will become an expanding library of Proof-of-Play™ Limited Editions, creating new opportunities for innovative games to find their audience while building stronger partnerships across the tabletop industry.
More information about Lock & Chain, Perfect 10, and future Proof-of-Play™ releases will be announced in the coming months.
