Toy Story of Terror! is a special Halloween-themed short film featuring the whole Toy Story gang. The toys are in the trunk of Bonnie’s car, headed to Grandma’s house. To entertain themselves on the long car ride, they’ve put on a scary movie, which Mr. Pricklepants is the expert on. A bit of of a horror-movie fanatic, he knows exactly what’s going to happen next in the movie, which is a good thing, because the toys are about to find themselves in a horror movie of their own.

When Bonnie’s car gets a flat tire, the gang ends up having to spend a night in a roadside motel, which Mr. Pricklepants says is a classic setting for horror movies. Woody, Buzz, and Jessie want everyone to stay in the suitcase, but Mr. Potato Head, Rex, and Trixie have other ideas. Woody and Buzz go out to find the others, shortly followed by Jessie, who fearfully couldn’t stay in the suitcase alone after past years of being trapped in a box.

They realize Mr. Potato Head has gone missing, and as they attempt to find him, each toy disappears, one by one, until Jessie is left alone, which is when she meets Combat Carl. The two of them are captured by a mystery creature, who brings them to the innkeeper. The innkeeper has a shady business going on: stealing customers’ toys and selling them on e-bay. When Woody gets sold and packaged up to be shipped off, it’s up to Jessie to save him, and hopefully get them and the rest of the toys back to Bonnie’s suitcase before their flat tire is fixed.

Toy Story of Terror! came out in 2013 and was set after the events of Toy Story 3. It was written and directed by Angus MacLane and has a run time of about 21 minutes. It was the perfect mini-movie for any Toy Story fan who can’t get enough of what those toys are doing when we aren’t watching.
