Laure LeBlanc's Tribute to John Fusi

Industry Commentary, Op-Ed

On a sad note I am sorry to share that John Fusi recently passed away.

John played an important role in the toy business in many ways and contributed to countless projects over the years. I could ask him about almost any product—especially one with a chemical component—and he either knew it firsthand or had researched its safety. I often wondered why he stayed so involved in toys, but he truly loved the business, and it was always part of his daily life.

John was a giant in many ways, especially intellectually, but even someone larger than life cannot escape what life has planned. His battle with cancer was brief, and he passed as he wished: with remarkable ideas in his head, peace in his heart, and a glass of Jameson beside him.

John leaves a tremendous hole in my life and in the lives of his family, but we will cherish the good times, smile, and look to the cosmos with the same curiosity he always carried.

Peace

Laure
