Etch A Sketch

The Etch A Sketch is a mechanical drawing toy invented in the 1950s by André Cassagnes, a French electrician. The Ohio Company launched the toy in the U.S. in 1960. The toy was featured in the movie “Toy Story” in 1995, providing a boost in sales, and again in the sequel, “Toy Story 2” in 1999, providing another boost in sales and keeping the company afloat. Spin Master, a Toronto-based toy company, acquired the rights to the toy in 2016.
