Earth Rangers is seeking a Social Media and Parent Community Manager to create and execute a new strategy to better connect with our members’ parents and the larger parenting community. More information and to apply -
You will be writing, editing, and publishing digital content, including social media posts, e-blasts, blog articles, and other content, largely targeting parents and guardians.
While engaging directly with kids is our core strength, our objective is to broaden our content scope to provide relevant and engaging content to parents. The successful candidate will bring a fresh perspective and voice that resonates with parents, growing our social channels and communities. They will create a forum that’s alive with discussion, one that offers an opportunity for parents to share the impact Earth Rangers has had on their children and ultimately helps Earth Rangers grow its community engagement and core mission.
In order to succeed we need to understand parents – what they are looking for, how we can provide value to them and how we can help them raise eco-conscious kids. Establishing this connection with our parent community will be especially important as we begin to expand our presence into the US market later this year.
You will be successful in this role if:
You are passionate about social media, have in-depth knowledge of all major platforms, and keep up with major trends, including changes to algorithms, tracking tools, influencers, etc.
You are a strong writer who is able to create meaningful content that resonates with our audience and results in engagement.
You are creative, passionate, and an authentic communicator and community builder.
You work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment that respects different points of views
and encourages healthy debate.
About Earth Rangers:
Environmental education at a young age plays a critical role in influencing lifelong attitudes towards our natural world. But we can’t just equip children with knowledge—to create long term behavioral change, we must empower them with the ability to act on that knowledge. Preparing the next generation to be conservationists is some of the most important work that any of us can do, and the time to do it is now.
Earth Rangers is the kids’ conservation organization, committed to instilling environmental knowledge, positivity, and the confidence to take action in every child in Canada. We do this through a suite of programming that children can participate in at school, at home, and in their communities. All of these programs are educational and engaging—but more importantly, they show children that it’s not too late to help the planet, and the things we do today will matter tomorrow.
Founded as a small community organization in 2004, Earth Rangers has grown to be the largest youth environmental organization globally; a homegrown, Canadian success story and soon to expand to United States. Our more than 300,000 members and alumni take action year-round to reduce waste and energy use, raise awareness and funds for at-risk species and habitats, and improve the ecological integrity of their homes, schools, and communities.
Manage all Earth Rangers social media channels, ensuring content is curated for each platform and its audiences. This include: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
