Tacto: coding board game for ages 6+.
Ages 6+, 2 players, 5-10 minutes
How to Win: Program a game of tic-tac-toe to beat your opponent.
Components: Tic-Tac-Toe board, 7 red gems, 7 blue gems, 9 red programming cards, 9 blue programming cards
Set-Up: Each player shuffles their 9 programming cards and places them in a pile face down in front of them. They each draw the top 5 cards and then choose 3 cards with which to program their game of Tic-Tac-Toe. They place them in order from top to bottom, at first face down. Then there is a big reveal to show each other their programs.
On Your Turn: Player starts at the top of their program. The player must do what it says in order to place a gem. If they cannot do what it says, they then move on to the second card. If they cannot do the second option, then they must do the third. If they cannot do any of the options, then they pass the turn.
End of Game: Play continues back and forth until one player places three gems in a row - a Tic-Tac-Toe win!
